56 Seventh Street Bowden Apartments

The Challenge

This project involved working with a large Commercial Building company who were using the ZEGO Building System for the first time.

Our client’s challenge was to design and construct a new 3 storey, 16 dwelling apartment complex with ground floor car parking incorporating passive construction solutions to be built quickly and efficiently to meet their tight construction program.

The Solution

ZEGO supplied the Commercial FireFORM System for external and internal fire rated acoustic party walls with a 150mm and 200mm concrete core.

The ZEGO FireFORM Building system is installed and poured in situ reducing the material handling and labour required on site.

With a reinforced concrete core, the FireFORM achieved the structural requirements whilst also providing the fire rating solution for the party and boundary walls.

ZEGO also supplied the ReFORM strippable and reusable plastic formwork solution for the carpark where insulation was not required.

ZEGO was able to offer a one stop wall solution for all applications streamlining the installation process.

The Result

Significant cost saving and construction time saving completing the project 4 weeks ahead of schedule.

Due to the incorporation of the ZEGO Insulated Concrete Formwork wall system, this project achieved a 6.4-7.5 star Nathers Energy rating and a 5 Star Green Star Design rating certified project.

56 Seventh Street was awarded the 2015 MBA (SA)Excellence Award Winner for Excellence in Environmental & Sustainable Constructions- Residential.

The success of this project has propelled the benefits of using ZEGO Insulated Concrete Building Systems as an alternative wall system for commercial and residential projects achieving faster construction, reduced labour costs, sustainability and energy efficiency in one process.
